Near the mountain of mountains
Even from a distance you can see it. The pride of Garmisch-Partenkirchen: the Zugspitze.
In this dreamlike environment the highest mountain of Germany is the center of all snow and winter pleasures. To winter-active people, the Olympic city of Garmisch-Partenkirchen will feel like paradise. If you prefer to watch sports from the sidelines, then New Year’s ski jumping is a must-see.
Franz Erhardt not only steers the sleigh, but also knows exactly which slope and which inn is particularly worthwhile.
Skiing & Snowboarding
Off to the slopes
The skiing area Garmisch-Classic and the glacier area at the mountain of the mountains promise alpine winter luck for beginners and professionals.
The three merged ski mountains Hausberg, Kreuzeck and Alpspitze offer a varied winter paradise with around 40 km of pistes. Families as well as real ski professionals get their money’s worth here.
On the Zugspitze, one does not only enjoy dreamlike descents but also a skiing area of superlatives at an altitude of 2,000 to 2,720 metres. Around 20 kilometres of pistes await summit conquerors and passionate skiers and snowboarders up there.
