FAQ – Getting Married at Werdenfelserei
How many people can we host for our wedding at Werdenfelserei?
Werdenfelserei is perfectly suited for up to 40 people. For outdoor ceremonies, we have beautiful spaces on the 4th floor – complete with a rooftop terrace and stunning panoramic mountain views. And if your guest list exceeds this number, there’s also the option to exclusively rent the entire venue for larger weddings.
What types of weddings does Werdenfelserei specialize in?
We specialize in intimate and cozy weddings. This is reflected in the ambiance of Werdenfelserei. So, if you’re looking for a micro-wedding location in Bavaria, you’ve come to the right place.
Where can we get married civilly in Garmisch-Partenkirchen?
Civil weddings in Garmisch-Partenkirchen typically take place from Monday to Thursday at the town hall. On Fridays, marriages are conducted at the Richard-Strauss Institute in Partenkirchen. Additionally, once a month, couples have the opportunity to exchange vows at the Zugspitze’s Sonnalpin station. However, it’s advisable to apply early for this option, as the Zugspitze is quite popular.
How far is the nearest registry/civil wedding office?
Registry office at the Town Hall – approximately 5 minutes by car
Registry office at the Richard-Strauss Institute – approximately 5 minutes by car
Parking at Eibsee – approximately 15 minutes by car + gondola ride with the Zugspitze Railway
Is a wedding ceremony possible on-site?
Certainly, you can exchange vows at Werdenfelserei. Our rooftop terrace on the 4th floor is perfect for an outdoor ceremony. However, civil marriages cannot currently be conducted on our premises
Do you have officiants/wedding speaker available?
We can provide recommendations for previous wedding officiants if you’d like. Of course, you’re also welcome to bring your own wedding speaker.
Can we just do the Getting Ready at Werdenfelserei?
Absolutely! Werdenfelserei is the perfect place for your Getting Ready – from the beautiful studios & suites, the stunning mountain views, to a phenomenal breakfast to a relaxed start the day for the bridal couple & guests.
How many guests can stay at Werdenfelserei?
Werdenfelserei has 43 studios & 8 suites, which can accommodate 2-6 persons each depending on the configuration. At maximum capacity, Werdenfelserei can accommodate up to 112 guests.
What about the culinary experience?
On your special day, prepare for a culinary treat. At our restaurant, Wurzelwerk, we’ll enchant you with a carefully crafted wedding dinner, customized to your preferences in collaboration with our chef. Depending on the number of guests, you can also enjoy your wedding menu on our beautiful covered and heated streamside terrace.
Are there vegetarian/vegan wedding menus available?
Absolutely. We tailor your wedding menu to your preferences. Just let us know your dietary preferences or any restrictions, and we’ll accommodate accordingly.
Do you offer wedding cakes?
Absolutely! Our in-house patisserie will be delighted to assist! In our bakery, we craft the finest creations, refining them until they reach perfection. Only the best ingredients are used, infused with love and dedication into our baking artistry. Whether you prefer classic, modern, or unique designs, our patisserie will create a wedding cake that perfectly suits your preferences as a couple.

We always find a solution! The Werdenfelserei offers many great indoor places where you can celebrate your very special day with your loved ones. And the Bachterrasse is even covered & heated.
